Mesean Spices 

Shannon worked with food entrepreneur Dominique Tolbert of TLBRT Hospitality to brand her new spice company. The client wished to visually capture the inspiration and essence of her product, defined as “Flavors of the African Diaspora.” The logo is an abstraction of two mounds of spices one might see in an open market, overlapping to create an “M” for Mesean Spices. Shannon created a black and white triangular pattern based on a kente cloth pattern to be used as a key branding element on the space labels, marketing mail pieces, point-of-sale signage and more. The high-contrast, simple black and white design theme accentuates the beautiful colors and texture of the spices themselves.
